Alright Left 4 Dead fans, it's time to have another tournament! This is Dylon2191 and I'm the Tournament Manager for Left4DeadSafeRoom.com. I'll be running the show with the help of the rest of the L4DSR team. Hosting a L4D Tournament is a lot of work so bare with me! The Tournament is free to participate in. Here are the rules...
Team Rules/Requirements
1) Teams can have 4 to 5 players.
2) All team members must have working mics/headsets.
3) Each team must have a team name.
4) Each team must have one Team Captain
5) Each team member must have a good internet connection. Ethernet cable is recommended.
6)We no longer accept 1-3 player registration. You must register with an entire team of 4 or 5 people
How It Will Work:
- Each team will submit their team members' gamer tags and their L4D2 gamer score during registration.
- Teams will be seeded based on their collective L4D2 gamer score and a bracket and schedule will be made based on these seeds. This means getting all the achievements pays off so check out or Achievement guides!
- Teams with the same collective gamerscores will be seeded on a first come first serve basis so be sure you register as early as possible to get the best seed.
- Each team captain must Friend the other team captains when the tourney starts.
- When it's time for your match, the team captain of the team with the LOWER gamer score will create a Versus Lobby, make it Friends-Only, and pick his/her campaign.
- If two teams play each other twice (double elimination tourneys), the team that lost in their previous match starts the lobby, picks the campaign, and chooses their starting side.
- All other team members of each team will join this Lobby.
- Players MUST use game chat when in the lobby.
- The team with the lower collective L4D2 gamer score chooses which side they are on first.
- Once everyone has agreed to start, the lobby leader starts the match.
- Once the match begins, players are free to join XBox Live Parties instead of using the in-game chat.
- At the end of the match, each team captain will send the final score of the match to BOTH Left4DeadSafeRoom@gmail.com and Dylon2191@gmail.com with their team name and round number as the subject.
- Teams are encouraged to video tape their matches or take pictures of the score screens.
- If the two team captains' results do not match, they will be asked to provide this proof.
- If no conclusion can be drawn from the evidence, both teams will be disqualified.
- Results will be posted on the website after each round of the Tournament.
In-Game Rules:
- No T-Bagging.
- No Trash-Talking AT ALL. Be good sports.
- Instant kill spots ARE allowed
- The match will not be restarted for any reason
- If your controller dies, deal with it. Wired controllers recommended.
- If you get disconnected, deal with it. You CAN rejoin ASAP.
- No casting votes. There will be no need to return to the lobby once a match has started and there will be no need to kick your teammates.
- Exception: If your teammate gets disconnected but still appears in your game, you CAN kick him/her in order to get him/her back in quicker.
- If any team member is more than 10 minutes late, start without him/her. He/she can join when they can.
- If an entire team is more than 10 minutes late, they lose that match.
- Provoking Witches as SI is not allowed. You can, however, smoke survivors towards them, etc...
- Absolutely NO SUBS during the tournament. If you have a person who can't play, you have to play with a BOT or accept a loss.
- No fence-walking, glitching, modding of any kind.
- No using the quick recharge glitch with Chargers and Jockeys
- No dropping down to the lower level via the ledge as Survivors on Dead Center Ch. 1
- No using the Plane Crescendo Glitch on Swamp Fever Ch. 2
- No Jesus Spots
- Basically, play all levels as they were meant to be played. If you have to ask if it's allowed, chances are that it's NOT.
