Survivors

Bill (Voiced by Jim French)
It took two eventful tours in Vietnam, a handful of medals, a knee full of shrapnel, and an honorable discharge before the unthinkable happened. Bill ran out of wars. But now an army of infected undead has declared war on humanity. After decades of aimless drifting and dead-end jobs, Bill's finally gotten back the only thing he ever wanted: An enemy to fight. His last name appears to be Overbeck as it is written on his jacket. Also fond of smoking, Bill always has a cigarette in his mouth, even in death, though it goes out if he dies. Bill is killed during the span of the Passing DLC for Left 4 Dead 2. Details will surface on the specifics when Valve releases DLC for Left 4 Dead to fill in the blanks.
Zoey (Voiced by Jen Taylor)
After spending her first semester holed up in a dorm room watching old horror movies, Zoey was given a choice: Stop fooling around and get her grades up, or drop out. Now that the planet's overrun with murderous zombies, and all of her professors are dead, Zoey at least has the cold comfort that she's been studying up on the right subject after all.
Francis (Voiced by Vince Valenzuela)
Cocky, loud, and pretty sure he's indestructible, Francis acts like the zombie apocalypse is the world's biggest bar fight. When the virus hit, everybody else stockpiled food and looked for a place to hide. Francis found a gun and had some fun. No cops, no laws, no order-if it wasn't for all the zombies, he could almost get used to life like this. His tattoos identify him as a member of "Hell's Legion," likely a play on the real "Hell's Angels." Interestingly enough, Francis has a Lambda cut into his hair, likely in reference to the Half-Life series, also from Valve. Francis often discloses his hatred for many things throughout the game. He's cited as saying he hates: Airplanes, the Army, Ayn Rand, Barns, Birds, Boats, Boat people, Boat Lawyers, Caca, Camping, Canada, Churches, Cops, Doctors, Elevators, Electric Fences, Greece, Helicopters, Hospitals, Hotels, Jumping, Jungles, Latest Issues, Lawyers, Malls, Mazes, Mondays, Parades, Sewers, Small Towns, Stairs, Subways, Trains, Train yards, Tunnels, Turnpikes, Vampires, Vans, Vomit, Walking, Water, Whispering and Woods. His likes? Vests.
Louis (Voiced by Earl Alexander)
Louis had been working up the courage to quit his job as Junior Systems Analyst at his company's IT department when a virus showed up and downsized the world. Now Louis has a new set of goals (live long enough to succeed) and a new set of tools (guns, sharp objects) to help him achieve them. With any luck, he'll figure out how the new management operates before they get a chance to murder him.

Coach (Voiced by Chad Coleman)
He is one of the four playable survivors in Left 4 Dead 2. Coach was a high-school football instructor for a well playing team, but he suffered a nasty knee injury. Ironically, he's now a health teacher pushing 40 years old, but he's gone to seed since his collegiate glory days. The zombie apocalypse makes him wish he'd watched his own fitness more closely.
Ellis (Voiced by Eric Laden)
He is one of the four playable Survivors in Left 4 Dead 2. He's a goofy, beer-loving smart guy that likes to work with machines. His attitude makes him "extremely excited" about everything, like managing to visit a concert and kill a lot of zombies. Most people would be scared witless by the zombie outbreak. Not Ellis—he's 21 and indestructible, so there was no way he was getting infected. The Savannah native respects his mother, loves his job and enjoys the simple pleasures in life. A little cocky, it remains to be seen if the end of the world will show him fear for the first time.
Rochelle (Voiced by Rochelle Aytes)
She is one of the four playable Survivors in Left 4 Dead 2. She is 26 years old and comes from Cleveland. She likes to communicate with the world and therefore became an associate producer in journalism. She was recently promoted and was sent to Savannah, the location of the first campaign, to produce a story on the odd occurrences and cover an evacuation center. She finds herself stranded in the chaos, but she's not the type of person to lie down and die. She grabs a gun and bands together with what's left of society. Her T-shirt features the image of the band, Depeche Mode which is one of several directly-made outside media references.
Nick (Voiced by Hugh Dillon)
He is one of the four playable Survivors in Left 4 Dead 2. He's a gambler and a con-man and is very cynical. Nick joined the other three in their quest to find salvation but is unsure about whether or not he can trust them, often comparing them to The Three Stooges. Still trying to figure out the best "angle" to get from the recent zombie apocalypse, as time goes by, he seems to value his Survivor compatriots.
